Googles “Big Daddy” update drops over 1.4billion pages
Google’s “Big Daddy” update has been reported to be rapidly dropping indexed pages. Search engine watchers have estmated that well over 1.4 billion indexed pages have been dropped.
“CNN.com” last week dropped from over 40million indexed pages down to just 150 - in that time the index for cnn.com has slowly built back up.
Google have been working on a fix for this error and reported that there servers were “nearly at full capacity” as they are now trying to rebuild the lost indexes.
Many websites found that Googles Cache was showing pages over two years old from servers that were supposed to be out of service - Google had to activate servers that they have not used for over three years to prevent themselved from going offline.
